The Safety Data Sheet (SDS) or Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) is the most important document for the communication along the supply chain of hazard information and risk management measurers relating to dangerous substances and preparations. The label displays this important information in a condensed way on the substance/preparation packaging itself. In Europe, and many other countries, such SDS have to be provided by manufacturers, distributors and importers of dangerous substances, and their preparations, for risk and hazard communication. As a best practice, SDS should be supplied for all chemical products in order to inform customers and users about the intrinsic properties and the hazard potential of each chemical substance.
